Privacy

The short version: your game stays on your device. No accounts, no ads, nothing to sign up for.

Sequentle is a free daily puzzle. This page explains the little that is collected, and the much larger part that never leaves your device.

What stays on your device

Your stats, streak, past games, today's progress, and settings (sound, dark mode, whether you've seen the welcome screen) are saved in your browser's own storage on this device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data erases them, and so does Reset everything in the stats window.

Sharing a result copies a short summary for you to paste or send yourself. Sequentle doesn't see where it goes.

Google Analytics

Sequentle uses Google Analytics to learn how many people play and how the puzzles are going. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google:

  • the pages you visit and the site that sent you, if any;
  • your browser, device type, screen size and language;
  • an approximate location (city or region) that Google works out from your IP address;
  • game moments: starting a puzzle, submitting a guess, winning or losing (with the number of tries) and sharing a result, each with the puzzle's number, theme and category; and taps on the welcome screen, How to play, and Reset everything.

None of this includes your name, email address or anything you type. The reports we see are totals and trends, not individual players. Google handles the data under its own terms; you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. To keep Google Analytics from collecting anything from your browser, block cookies for this site or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. The game works the same either way.

Loading the puzzle

Each day's puzzle is fetched from Sequentle's own server, which runs on Google Cloud. Like any web server, it keeps standard request logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and troubleshooting. They aren't used to track players.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent personal information.
  • We don't run ads.
  • The game never asks for names, email addresses or passwords.

Children

Sequentle isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If what Sequentle collects ever changes, this page will change first, and the date at the top will say when.

Contact

For questions, a puzzle fact that looks wrong, or a privacy request, use the contact page. Its form is a Google Form shown inside the page, so Google's own scripts and cookies load there, and only there. What you send is stored in Google Forms and used only to answer you. A way to reply is optional, so leave it blank if you don't need an answer, and please don't include anything you'd rather not share.
